You can create Facebook dynamic product ads from the Marketing section in Shopify. In this video you’ll see an example from a demo store.
Before you can create dynamic product ads, you need to set up the Facebook Marketing app with a Business Manager connected. Learn more about [Setting up the Facebook Marketing app in Shopify]https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/promoting-marketing/create-marketing/facebook-ads).
Understanding dynamic product ads
Facebook dynamic product ads promote relevant products to customers who have visited your online store. Facebook tracks visitor behavior on your online store using the Facebook pixel, and then builds an audience of visitors who were active on your store in the last 30 days. Dynamic product ads are shown as personalized Facebook carousel ads for each visitor, and include the products they viewed or added to their cart.
Facebook uses a product catalog to create dynamic product ads. After you set up the Facebook Marketing app in Shopify, your products are automatically synced to Facebook for use in dynamic product ads. You might see publishing errors listed in the Facebook Marketing app. You can resolve these errors from the product details page for a product with errors.
Create a marketing activity with a Facebook dynamic product ad
When you create a marketing activity with a Facebook dynamic product ad, you can use the ad template to set up the ad. You can preview your ad before you publish it. The preview uses random products from your store so that you can get an idea of what the ad will look like.
- From your Shopify admin, go to Marketing.
- Click Create activity.
- Click Facebook dynamic product ad.
- Enter a name and the ad text for your activity.
- Set the budget.
- Set a start date and time. You can also choose to set an end date and time.
- Click Publish activity.
