The avatar worksheet. I have a downloadable PDF. You're gonna fill it out and it's going to create a customer avatar for your brand so that you have a starting place for your Facebook advertising. I want to go through the first couple of questions on the worksheet, and I want to remind you that if you don't have an answer to any of these questions, it's totally okay, and at the end of this video, I'm going to give you some insight on to how you can find answers when you don't actually know them yourself. But if you don't have an answer, it's okay, you can just skip it.

First and foremost, we want to figure out who is this person? Is it a soccer mom, is it a yoga person? Some name of this avatar. Again, it doesn't so much matter, you can totally guess. Number two, where can you sell your products? Can you sell them only in a specific town? Can you only sell in Toronto, Canada? Number three, what gender do you think is interested in this product? Is it men, is it women? Is it both?

Is it people who don't identify as men or women? Who do you think is going to be interested in this product? Put that down, because we can use that to inform our targeting. Number four, what age do we think is interested in this product? Is it men who are 25 to 45? Is it women who are 18 to 36? Do you have any insight into the age range of the people who are going to buy this product? If so, put that down.

The first section of the avatar worksheet is all about what content do you believe they consume? What books do they read? What influencers do they follow? What magazines do they read? And you can put answers in here like, for example, if it's a yoga person, Yoga Journal Magazine, or Elephant Journal Blog or Tara Stiles, who is a yoga influencer. I don't want you to overthink this. Just put down whatever comes to you and, as I mentioned, I was gonna give you a strategy for filling this out if you do not know it yourself.

There's three ways that you're gonna be able to fill out this worksheet for your avatar. Number one, you are in that market yourself. Like, I practice jujitsu, I know a bunch of lingo, I know a bunch of products that jujitsu people buy, I know what blogs we read because I am that avatar, so I can answer all the questions on this worksheet because I belong to that community. Number two, you research it.

I wouldn't recommend this one but you can do it. You can go to Google, you can do the research to figure it out. Or number three, and this is the best one, find someone who is in that community and ask them to fill this out for you. Ask them these questions. Find someone who is that avatar, like when I was researching targeting for Boom, I called my grandma, asked her what TV shows do you watch, what people do you follow? Are you even on social media, you know, ask someone who is in that avatar to fill this out for you, because it is invaluable data that we're going to use for targeting on Facebook.
